Our Emergency First Aid course teaches you the importance of being a first aider and how to administer first aid in emergency situations in low-risk environments. This is a legal requirement for Door Supervisors, Security Guards, and Close Protection officers.

This course provides you with the knowledge you need to perform first aid in emergency situations, including performing CPR, using a defibrillator, handling bleeding, seizures, anaphylaxis and more. This course is enriched with detail, tailored to meet the legal requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations of 1981 and teach vital skills that has the potential to save somebody’s life.

With this certificate under your belt, you can apply for your Door Supervisor licence once you complete our Door Supervisor Security course. Emergency first aid is a legal requirement for you to apply for your licence, so if you haven’t already got a legal and valid first aid certificate, you will need to take this course. If the validity of your certificate is coming to an end, you can complete a top-up course with us.

The topics that will be covered in the course are:

  • Adult resuscitation / Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Burns and scalds
  • Choking adult
  • Communication and casualty care
  • Causes and care of the unconscious casualty
  • Manage the Transportation of a Casualty
  • Defibrillator prompts and how to respond (theory based)
  • Defibrillator pad placement (theory based)
  • Minor and severe bleeding
  • Role of the first aider (including knowledge of health and safety regulations)
  • Seizures
  • Shock
  • Unresponsive adult
  • Priorities of First Aid
  • Managing an Incident
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Record Keeping & Accident Reporting
  • Practical demonstration and use of an AED

The indispensable provision of emergency first aid is taught in 6 hours in our classroom and assessed through written and practical assessments, with a multiple-choice exam at the end. All course material and exam fees are included in the price of this course.

Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work certificate

What Next?:

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a Emergency First Aid certificate, which is valid for 3 years. After the 3 years, you can take a 1-day refresher course to maintain the certificate for another 3 years.

Once you receive your Emergency First Aid certificate and your qualification in Door Supervisor Security, you can apply for your Door Supervisor licence. Emergency First Aid is also required if you want to study Close Protection and apply for a Close Protection licence.
